Apparently, Morocco has lost its sense of humor. A recent caricature of the newly-wed prince has stirred a big controversy which’s still unforlding. In this caricature, the prince is seen raising his right arm (Hitler style) with a barely visible star depicted in the background that appears to be David-like. The whole episode was of course a golden opportunity for our beloved government to ban one of the very few independent newspapers in the country (this deserves a post unto itself …)
While I do support the journalist’s freedom of expression I do question his recent statement in which he declared that the star was mistaken for a star of David when it really is just a good old Moroccan one. I, thus, decided to use my very limited Photoshop skills to test his testimony… You be the judge

For the star to be what the journalist claims, lines 1 and 2 MUST meet which is very unlikely…

and for it to be what he claims, the original caricature should have depicted the circled parts of the star…

I wonder if the German origin of the Prince’s wife has anything to do with this story…
Well done!
